☇ Take four books off your bookshelf.
☇ Write the first sentence
☇ Write the last sentence on page fifty
☇ Write the second sentence on page one hundred
☇ Write the next to the last sentence on page one hundred fifty
☇ Write the final sentence of the book
☇ Let your friends guess what book it is.

to add a twist... If anyone can guess all four before I post the answers, I will buy them two-months paid time. No joke. 'Course... I have a somewhat strange taste in books and while two are pretty well-known, two of 'em are a tad more obscure. Though the last one has a major hint as to the series in one of the lines. |D

I'm seriously doubting anyone could guess all four, so. |D

BOOK ONE: Monstrous Regiment by Terry Pratchet [ guessed by [livejournal.com profile] spiffynamehere ]
☇ Polly cut off her hair in front of the mirror, feeling slightly guilty about not feeling very guilty about doing so.
    ☇ He was praying.
☇ "Lied to 'em for years."
☇ "Can't have the poor man chokin' to death, Perks!"
☇ And the new day was a great big fish.

BOOK TWO: 'Til We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis [ guessed by [livejournal.com profile] spiffynamehere ]
☇ I am old now and have not much to fear from the anger of gods.
☇ "Why should the Accursed not be both the best and the worst?"
☇ "We must go on; further on this line."
☇ "I must, the, rest tonight."
☇ The Priest who comes after me has it in charge to give up the book to any stranger who will take an oath to bring it into Greece.

BOOK THREE: Where The Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein [ partially guessed by [livejournal.com profile] toastofrassilon ]
☇ If you are a dreamer, come in.
☇ They never buy the bad ones!
☇ Up to my elbows-- up to my face
☇ To kill and die is such a bore
☇ What do I search for now?

BOOK FOUR: The Paradise War by Stephen Lawhead [ not guessed XD ]
☇ It all began with the aurochs.
☇ But, on the off chance that he'd stumbled and hit his head on a rock, I crawled around the interior of the cairn to make sure he wasn't lying unconscious in the dirt.
☇ The interior of the building was suited to its gigantic occupant.
☇ "We could be doing irreparable damage."
☇ For I had heard the Song of Albion and my life was no longer my own.

:DDD

At the theatre camp I used to go to, we did a play based on Shel Silverstein poems. It was kind of amazing.
