THE CHARACTER ASSOCIATION MEME

Having a brief quasi-theological discussion with [livejournal.com profile] neutraltwin last night has made me want to crack open my philosophy books again. I never thought I'd actually want to read Ethics again, but now I'm like... okay. How much brain power do I have today? Am I up for digesting a little bit of Aristotle? (Which I wasn't. |D I compromised and read Chesterton instead. Orthodoxy's preface will forever make me laugh.) So now I'm just in such a reflective and pensive mood. I love it.

... now would probably be a good time to get some writing done.

Aristotle... Yeah. We, uh, read a bit of him in Ethics. I wasn't such a fan. :/ Machiavelli and Kant on the other hand... Love those guys. Don't necessarily agree with them, but they're fun nonetheless.

Aristotle is the only one I actually have copies of. And he's close to my heart since he's the first big philosopher I ever read.

And Machiavelli just makes me want to go kick people.

Aaah. We read... Plato first? I think... Whichever one came before the other. Didn't really like any of that group. Kind of boring.

He would be very proud of you as long as you were doing it to assert your power and dominance.
